Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, has expressed his astonishment over Jamal Musiala’s exclusion from the Ballon d’Or shortlist, stating, ‘We’re absolutely shocked; it’s simply unbelievable.’
He added, ‘Jamal was one of the standout players at the Euros, making the tournament’s Best XI and being among the top scorers.’
Eberl emphasized Musiala’s crucial role in Bayern’s run to the Champions League semi-finals, noting, ‘It’s incomprehensible that he isn’t even listed among the top 30 players from last season.’
He concluded, ‘Musiala is one of the most exciting talents on the global football stage, possessing unique and extraordinary abilities. We’re incredibly proud of his contributions to both FC Bayern and the national team,’ Eberl told DPA.
